Somaia Ibrahim and others were arrested on October 6, 2013 during the 6th of October demonstrations in the Ramesses area and the courthouse, and they were taken to the Azbakeya department. The Prosecutor’s case No. 10325 of 2013 was brought before the department of Azbakeya. Charges were brought against her for show of force, using violence, disrupting the subway at the Al Shahada station, possession of weapons and ammunition without a license, and belonging to a terrorist organization. She was imprisoned under investigations. She was released on bail of 5 thousand pounds on November 14, 2013. She was sentenced in absentia on September 30, 2014 to 15 years imprisonment, 5 years supervision, and a fine of 20 thousand pounds. Her house was raided on August 22, 2019. She was imprisoned, and her imprisonment left two children, a 3-year old and an infant. After the procedures were repeated, the sentence became 5 years and 3 supervision. She is now imprisoned in Qanater prison. Violations she was subjected to: Visiting and other means of communication were banned for months starting from the Corona crisis.
