Ibtisam Gomaa and others were arrested on July 24, 2019, from the vicinity of the gate of the Police Trustees Institute while attending the trial session of their relatives. They were taken to the National Security building. They were presented before the prosecution and were investigated under case No. 11797 of 2019 Maadi Misdemeanor, which is registered under No. 5 of 2020, Misdemeanor State Security Emergency Maadi. She was released on bail of 200 pounds the next day. She was sentenced in absentia to imprisonment for one month at the end of February 2020.
