Nourhan Tarek was arrested on January 28, 2014 and appeared before the Prosecution on January 29, 2014. She was accused of Causing civil unrest, vandalism, and assembly; destruction of public property; joining an armed terrorist group intent on disturbing public peace and security; possession of molotov cocktails, fireworks, and firearms, in case No 1360 for 2014, Al-Azbakeya administrative. She was sentenced to five years imprisonment. The sentence was reduced on appeal to two years.
