Enas Mohamed was arrested along with five others on June 29, 2017 from Al-Azhar Park. Authorities said they were arrested while distributing leaflets to citizens inside Al-Azhar Park, and were in possession of leaflets inciting against state and government institutions, after the price of fuel rose. They were presented before the prosecution, who investigated them in the case no. 1483 for 2017 Administration Al Darab Al Ahmar, registered under no. 1 for 2018 Emergency State Security Al Darab Al Ahmar Misdemeanors, known as “detainees of the space.” She was accused of founding the Al Jarabiya Union. The prosecution ordered her imprisonment under investigations. She was transferred to El Qanater prison. She was sentenced on February 22, 2018 to two years in prison. She was granted a presidential pardon on May 17, 2019, one month before her sentence expired. However, al-Qanater prison refused to implement the pardon decision on the pretext that it did not ratify the decision despite it being a final emergency sentence. She was discharged on July 1, 2019 after serving her full term.
