Somaia Mohamed was arrested on November 1, 2018, when security forces raided the homes of a number of activists late at night without any judicial authorization. They searched their homes, tampered with their contents, and destroyed the furniture in them. They took them to an unknown destination and she remained forcibly disappeared for nearly 3 weeks at the National Security Headquarters in Abbasiya. She was beaten and electrocuted until she appeared before the prosecution under case No. 1552 for 2018 Supreme State Security . She was released on parole on May 25, 2019. But she was rotated and included under case No. 800 for 2019 with the same charges. The charges were renewed until she obtained a release with precautionary measures on January 14, 2020, and the precautionary measures were cancelled in April 2020 – Violations: enforced disappearance for nearly three weeks during which she was beaten and electrocuted – reluctance in releasing her on 5/25/19 and rotating her to Case No. 800 for 2019 with the same charges – she was not allowed visits for the duration of her detention – solitary confinement for the duration of her detention.
