Rola Mostafa was arrested from her home and forcibly disappeared for a while before appearing before the prosecution on July 4, 2018 under case No. 441 of 2018, Supreme State Security . She was accused of spreading false news about the political and economic situation in the country with the intention of undermining public peace within the framework of the objectives of the Terrorist Brotherhood. She was also accusded of promoting the group’s purposes aimed at undermining confidence in the Egyptian state and its institutions. The prosecution ordered her detention pending investigations and she was taken to Al Qanatir prison. She was released with precautionary measures on January 12, 2019, and the measures were cancelled on February 17, 2020. Violations she was subjected to: enforced disappeance for a period.
