Al Khosous Police Station forces in Qalyubia governorate arrested Maha Ahmedand two engineers on July 4, 2015 while they were conducting field research for the Zaraib area in Al Khosous. The purpose of the field research was to study the housing situation and make a development plan for the area, with the participation of the residents, to present to the authorities for the development of arbitrary areas. They were taken to the Al Khosous Police Station. She was presented before the prosecution under case no. 4750 of 2015, Al Khosous Administration, and charged with collecting information without the permission of the concerned authorities and working for “the Egyptian Commission for Rights and Freedoms,” an unregistered institution. She was released the following day.
