Nourhan Omar and others were arrested on October 6, 2013, during the October 6th demonstrations in Dokki. She was presented before the prosecution under case No. 5203 of 2013, Dokki Administration. She was charged with joining a terrorist gang, assembly, show of force and signaling violence, assaulting security, damaging private property and obtaining bladed weapons. She was released and sentenced in absentia on April 16, 2014 to 3 years in prison, which was reduced to one year on September 3, 2014.
