Shimaa Samy was arrested in her home on May 20, 2020. They informed her family that they would take her to the Alexandria Security Directorate, and asked Shaimaa to bring clothes. She was subjected to enforced disappearance for approximatley 9 days and then appeared before the State Security Prosecution in case No. 535 of 2020, Supreme State Security . She was charged with belonging to a terrorist group, spreading false news and abusing social media. She is a prisoner in Al-Qanater prison pending investigation and is still being renewed. – Violations: – Enforced disappearance for nearly 9 days; she was dragged, blindfolded and threatened.
