The security forces arrested Asmaa Ismail at dawn 9/9/2013 after breaking into her home and inquiring about her husband, Ayman al-Baruji, the Brotherhood candidate in the 2011 People’s assembly elections in Kafr Al-Batikh. She was taken to the Department of Kafr Al-Batikh and attached to case no. 6606 for 2013, Kafr al-Batikh Administration, registered under number 1419 for 2013 Total Damiat. She was charged with breaking into and vandalizing the Kafr al-Batikh city council, assembly, possessing firearms and bladed weapons, wielding force and assaulting public officials. She was released the following day. She was sentenced in absentia to 10 years in prison on 29 December 2014. She appealed and was acquitted on February 25, 2015. – Violations: – Her house was broken into and its contents were destroyed when she was arrested.
