Mennat Allah Mostafa Al-Belaihi

Mennat Allah was arrested on November 12, 2013, on the campus of Mansoura University amidst demonstrations at the university. The prosecution decided to detain her on the basis of case No. 7 of 2014. She was sentenced to three years in prison on May 21, 2014 and then acquitted on appeal on November 18, 2015. She was placed on the presidential pardon list on 9/23/15, but it was not implemented on the pretext that she was pending appeal. She was acquitted after serving the complete period of her sentence, and she was discharged. Violations she was subjected to: poor detention conditions, as she was placed in a 1×1.5m cell with criminal prisoners. Then she was moved to a 4x6m cell with 30 other criminal prisoners, who were accused of robbery, murder, and drug trafficking. The cell did not have ventilation or light, and they slept while sitting. – difficulty in visits, as they could not be longer than 5 minutes and they took place from behind a barrier so that not even a handshake was possible.
