Asmaa Abdel Hamid was arrested on May 12, 2018 from Al Sadat metro station during protests of the rise in metro ticket prices. She appeared two days later before the prosecution under case No. 718 of 2018, Supreme State Security . She was imprisoned in Al-Qanater prison until she was released with precautionary measures on June 27, 2018. – Violations she was subjected to: Severely beaten in the metro before being arrested.
