Kholoud Ayed was arrested with her mother Mariam Mohamed Salam on May 6th, 2020, because she fought with an officer who described her brother as a “terrorist” because he joined Daesh. Kholoud and her mother were taken to Al Arish Police Station III where they were detained for 9 days then they were transferred to Al Arish Police Station I and then to one of the camps in Al Ismailia where they were detained for one month and a half until they were presented before the prosecution. They were imprisoned pending case No. 810 of 2019.
On December 21st, 2020, an order for their release was issued and they were transferred to Abu Suir Police Station in Al Ismailia, then to Al Qantara Gharb Police Station in Al Ismailia. On January 11th, 2021, they were transferred to Al Arish Police Station I in East Sinai where they remained in detention until they were presented before the prosecution in a new case On January 31st, 2021, and they were released on 1 thousand L.E. bail on February 7th, 2021. Then they were transferred again to Al Arish Police Station III and remained there until April 24th, 2021. On October 27th, 2021, they were presented before the prosecution in a new case No. 1935 of 2021.
Kholoud was released on July 3rd, 2022.
Violations she was subjected to:
– Enforced disappearance for a period during which she was beaten in the stomach and the lower back.
– She suffered from severe colic, which led to losing a part of the water around the fetus.
– She was prevented from visits and other means of communication for months starting from the Corona crisis.
– Denial of wearing clothes
-Deprivation of her newborn baby
-Rotation more than once
