Hala Mohamed was arrested on July 29, 2018 and taken to an unknown location until she appeared before the prosecution on July 31, 2018 under case No. 828 of 2017, Supreme State Security . She was charged with joining a group established contrary to the provisions of the law, intending to call for the disruption of the provisions of the Constitution and laws, preventing state institutions and public authorities from carrying out their work, and spreading false news about the political and economic situation in the country, with the intention of disrupting public peace. The prosecution ordered her to be detained pending investigations and she was transferred to Al-Qanater prison.
