The security forces arrested Salwa Aboud and others after dispersing a march in violation of the demonstration law near the Federal Palace on June 21, 2014. She was imprisoned in the new Egypt section under case no. 8429 for 2014 new Egypt Misdemeanors, registered under no. 17178 for the year 2014, East Cairo Appellant Crimes. She was charged with participating in a assembly of more than five people with the goal of endangering public peace, committing crimes of attacking persons and funds, and influencing the public authorities in their actions by using force and violence. As such, they committed the following crimes: 1- They participated in a demonstration that violated public security, disrupted the interests of citizens, cut off roads and transportation, disrupted traffic, and assaulted public and private property. 2- They wielded force and used violence on the highway to terrorize passers-by and endanger their lives. The following crimes occurred on the basis of that crime: (a) they deliberately destroyed public property (police car No. 3279 b17 – umbrellas of the New Egypt Police Station as described in the investigations.) (b) They deliberately destroyed fixed and movable property owned by the victim / Samah Hamid Omar / with a value of more than £50 as outlined in the investigations. She was sentenced on October 26, 2014 to three years in prison with employment and access, and 3 years police supervision, with a fine of 10 thousand pounds, a requirement to reimburse the value of the things that were destroyed, and assumption of expenses. On 12/28/14, the sentence was appealed and commuted to two years imprisonment with labor and access, 2 years police supervision, and assumption of expenses. She was imprisoned in El Qanater prison to carry out the sentence until she was added to the presidential pardon on 9/23/15.
