Sara Khaled was arrested by Al-Azhar University on January 5, 2014 and charged with possession of pins bearing a Rabaa sign, burning a police car, and assaulting a police officer under case 97 of 2014, Nasr City Misdemeanors. The prosecution ordered her imprisonment pending investigations. On 30 April 2014, she was sentenced to two and a half years in prison.
