Safa Ismail was arrested on April 26, 2016 from the Tora Astaqbal prison area during a visit to a detainee. She was taken to Maadi, and was presented before the prosecution. She was charged with violating prison regulations by attempting to bring a mobile phone to a prisoner. She was released the same day.
