Esraa Shukry and others from Al-Azhar University in Mansoura were arrested on January 5, 2015, following an opposition demonstration demanding the release of detainees. They were charged with demonstrating inside the college without a permit, and provoking violence and rioting. She was detained pending investigations. She was released on 31 January 2015 and sentenced on February 8, 2015 to a 6-month suspended sentence. – Violations: – dismissal from college – imprisonment with criminals.
