Hagar Magdy was arrested in front of al-Zuhairi Mosque in Mansoura on February 8, 2019, after the mosque was besieged and worshippers attacked after the call to Absentee funeral prayer for the martyrs of the executions of the case of Ibn al-Mashoul. She was presented before the prosecution accused of joining a group founded in conflict with the provisions of the law. She was detained pending investigations. She was released on December 26, 2019.
