Nessma Youssef was arrested on April 20, 2014 from in front of the 5th assembly Police Station, where she came to stand in solidarity with the activist, Ahmed Abu Zeid. When there was an altercation between some citizens and witnesses who reported him, she took out her mobile phone and began filming. Witnesses shouted for a police officer, saying, “She’s filming us, she wants to kill us!” They arrested her, grabbed her phone from her and searched it. Then they dragged her to the prosecutor’s room and she was thrown into custody. She was released with a residence guarantee on 4/23/14.
