Nora Sadiq was arrested in the Al-Ajami area of Alexandria while she was going to buy Eid clothes for her sons in August 2017. She remained under enforced disappearance for months until she appeared before the Supreme State Security Prosecutor in Cairo on November 10, 2017. She was remanded in custody pending investigation. Nora is a mother of seven children, including the disabled girl Rahma, who needed special care from her mother and died on February 3, 2018, while her mother remains a prisoner. – Violations: – enforced disappearance for months, during which she was beaten; she appeared in a video to reassure her family, but her face showed signs of beating and and she had the look of fear of someone watching her – she was not allowed to have a lawyer attend investigations with her – the death of her child who needed to be cared for due to her special needs.
