Mohamed Essam was arrested as a minor while returning to his home in Bashra Al Khaimah after purchasing school supplies on September 20, 2019 amidst the events of September 20, 2019. He was forcibly disappeared until he appeared before the prosecution on September 25, 2019 under case No. 1338 of 2019, Supreme State Security . He was charged with participating in a terrorist group to achieve its goals, broadcasting and spreading false news, misuse of social media, and participating in a demonstration without a permit. The prosecution ordered his imprisonment pending investigations. He was released on October 15, 2019. Violations: forced disappearance for days – prevented from visits.
