Ahmed Obaid was arrested as a minor on September 20, 2019 amidst the events of September 20, 2019. He was forcibly disappeared until he appeared before the prosecution under case No. 1338 of 2019 the Supreme State Security and charged him with participating in a terrorist group in achieving its purposes, broadcasting and spreading false news, abusing social media, and participating in a demonstration without a permit. The prosecution ordered him to be detained pending investigation. He was released on October 17, 2019.
