Sherif Magdy Zinhom

Sherif Magdy and others were arrested on November 4, 2013 amidst demonstrations and riots in the vicinity of the High Court in protest against the trial of former President Mohamed Morsi. He was charged with assembly, deliberately damaging public and private property, resisting the authorities, causing chaos and terror among passers-by, obstructing ramses street, damaging the front of the journalists’ syndicate, joining an armed terrorist group, and aiming to disrupt peace and public security. He was detained pending investigations. On April 20, 2014, he was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison.
