Youssef Osama was arrested when returning from a visit to his sick brother in Al-Mansoura amidst September 20 events on September 20, 2019. He was forcibly disappeared until he appeared before the prosecution under case No. 1338 of 2019, Supreme State Security . He was charged with participating in a terrorist group in achieving its purposes, broadcasting and spreading false news, abusing social media, and participating in a demonstration without a permit. The prosecution ordered his detention under investigations. He was released on October 15, 2019.
