Ahmed Mostafa was arbitrarily arrested as a minor on December 27, 2013, in Alexandria and charged with demonstrating without a permit and assembly under case No. 210 of 2014, juvenile misdemeanour. He was detained pending investigation. The Child Misdemeanour Court ordered his release on bail of 5,000 pounds on April 2, 2014 and suspended the proceedings pending the adjudication of adult lawsuits.
