Eslam Ahmed was arrested with a warrant on April 1st, 2014 in his house in Qena. He was accused of creating a terrorist cell, targeting police officers, arson of their cars and committing explosive acts. He was caught possessing devices for assault such as laptops, fireworks, sulfur containers and pipes, as well as regulatory documents and a Bangladeshi passport. On April 2nd, 2014, he was presented to Qena public prosecution that ordered his 15-days detention on remand.
