Ahmed Mohamed was arrested in Alexandria university events on September 20th, 2013. He was accused for joining a terrorist group, attempted murder, possession of weapons, firearms and inciting printouts toward the police and army, assaulting security, resisting authorities, obstruction of traffic, and destruction of public and private property. He was detained on remand under case 7253 of 2013, administrative, Bab El-Shark.
