Mohamed El-Sayed was arrested in Martyrs’ Square in Dakahlia amidst the clashes near a public governorate building on October 13th, 2013. He was detained on remand for assembly, demonstration without permit, and destruction of public and private property. On March 27th, 2014, he was sentenced to three-year prison. On May 22nd, 2014, he appealed to reduce his sentence to two years. On June 17th, 2015, he obtained a presidential pardon.
