Mahmoud Ibrahim was arrested amidst the dispersal of the national guard’s sit-in in Salah Salem, Cairo on July 8th, 2013. He was detained under case No. 9134 of 2013 Masr Al gadeeda Misdemeanor. He was accused of murder, attempted murder, possession of firearms, vandalism, obstruction of traffic, and obtainment of explosives. He was released on bail later. In April 2014, the case was transferred to the military justice without any developments.
