Omnia Ibrahim was arrested with her husband from home on December 28th, 2021. She was taken to the National Security and was interrogated about her brother, Mohamed Ibrahim Abdel Sattar, on the basis that she was in contact with him. Her brother Mohamed was imprisoned in 2009 and escaped from prison on January 28th, 2011. He traveled to Syria in 2014 and started fighting there, and then she heard from his fiancée that he died in a slander in 2016. Umniah stated that it was all she knew about her brother and since 2016 she knows nothing about him except that he died. She also stated that she never joined any political party nor participated in any political action. She was presented before the prosecution on February 17th, 2022 and imprisoned in Case No. 626 of 2021.
