Abd El-Rahman Amir Zakaria Amir

Abd El-Rahman Amir was arrested amidst Burj al-Arab Stadium events on July 9, 2017 after riot events during the Zamalek and Ahli Tripoli match. He was presented before the prosecution under case No.9924 for 2017 Al-Amriya second misdemeanour, and referred to the military prosecution with No.186 for 2017 Alexandria military felonies. He was charged with joining an illegally formed group (Ultras Zamalkawy), using terrorism as a means to achieve the group’s objective, promoting the group’s ideas, preventing state institutions from carrying out their activities, possessing explosives (fireworks), using explosives that can endanger people’s lives and result in injuries, speaking out to provoke sedition, assaulting and resisting police officers to cause injuries, displaying force, insulting police officers verbally because of their work, and destruction of public property (chairs, stadium). He was detained pending investigations. Then the military prosecution ordered the dismissal of the case and release of defendants on December 16, 2017. Violations: – They went on a hunger strike in Al-Hadra prison, starting from October 26, 2017, in protest against their imprisonment – subjected to beatings.
