Despite Abd El-Rahman Taha’s injury, he was arrested by Port Said’s security forces amidst Mariem mosque events on December 13th, 2013. He was detained on remand for demonstration and inciting violence and riots to disturb the citizens’ public interest. He was subject to:
– Physical torture, dragging and electrocution in Port Said’s central security camp.
– Beating with sharp implements in his arrest. He had 86 stitches, his left hand’s tendon was cut, his fingers were disabled, he had a skull fracture until now and he had injuries in his left shoulder, elbow and right leg. He was presented, in his condition, before the public prosecution at Port Said’s First Instance Court.
