Ahmed Lotfy Zaghlol

Ahmed Lotfy was arrested in his house at Damietta on November 9th, 2014. He was detained on remand, although his father proved his worsened medical condition as a result of a previous gunshot wound to his liver. On june 3rd, 2015, he was acquitted. While he is still a minor, he was rearrested in a field checkpoint at Damietta near his house after shopping (from the supermarket) on April 4th, 2017. He was forcibly disappeared until he appeared on April 22nd, 2017 to be presented before the prosecution and detained on remand. On July 2nd, 2017, he was released on 20-thousand L.E. bail. He was subject to:
– Beating
– Shortness of breath because of the criminal unit and police’s smoking in detention centers.
– Medical neglect (he has had a gunshot wound to his stomach).
– Enforced disappearance for 18 days during the second arrest.
– Deprivation of examination.
