Ahmed Magdy was arrested as a minor on July 2, 2015 in the vicinity of al-Ahli Club and was charged with joining a banned group and demonstrating without a permit under case No. 28947 for 2015, Nasr City first misdemeanour. He was released on bail of 5,000 pounds on July 5, 2015 and acquitted on January 19, 2017. The prosecution appealed the sentence. He was acquitted again on March 27, 2017.
