Ahmed Mohamed was arrested in the Ramses events’ aftermath at Koubri Ghamrah in Cairo on July 15th, 2013. He was detained for assembly with intent to assault persons and public and private properties, show of force, signaling violence and using them to physically and psychologically terrorize the victims. He was also accused of the premeditated murders of Ahmad Salah Al-Basyouni and others, attempted premeditated murder of Amr Badaoui and others, and destruction of public buildings and properties in Al-Dhaher. On May 3rd, 2014, he was sentenced to seven-year prison, 20-thousand L.E. fine and five-year probation.
