AlSayeda Alhilali and others were arrested on April 25, 2015, following demonstrations in the village of Serso in Daqahliya governorate, where peasants protested because a businessman siezed a piece of land in a dispute between them. They were taken to the Talkha district. They were presented before the prosecution and charged with resisting the authorities, assaulting and slandering the security forces, theft and destruction under case No. 6568 of 2015, Talkha Misdemeanors. She was released on April 28, 2015. She was sentenced in absentia to a six-month suspended sentence on 15 January 2016. She appealed and was acquitted on 26 October 2016.
