Alaa Hemdan was arbitrarily arrested in the Mataria area on September 27, 2019, amidst the events of September 20. She was forcibly disappeared until she appeared before the prosecution on September 30, 2019 under case No. 1338 of 2019, Supreme State Security . She was charged with participation in a terrorist group to help achieve its objectives, broadcasting and spreading false news, misuse of social media, and participating in a demonstration without a permit. She was held in custody. She was released on parole on October 30, 2019. Violations she was subjected to: enforced disappearance for days.
