Amer Akram was arrested as a minor with others on January 25, 2014, from Nasr City during the third anniversary of the revolution and taken to Nasr City first station. He appeared before the prosecution under case No. 3375 of 2014, Nasr City first misdemeanor. He was charged with joining an illegally formed group, demonstrating without a permit, obstruction of the road, and using force and violence with public officials. He was detained pending investigations. The Attorney General decided to dismiss the case and release the defendants on April 15, 2014.
