Aser Zahr El-Din was arrested as a minor from his home on January 11, 2016 and taken to an unknown destination where he remained under enforced disappearance for about 33 days, during which he was tortured. He then appeared before the prosecution under case No. 45 of 2016, Supreme state Security, known in the media as the “case of the Three Pyramids Hotel.” He was detained pending investigations. On October 12, 2019, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison. – Violations: – Enforced disappearance for more than a month, during which he was subjected to severe torture and electrocution – presented to the prosecution without the presence of a lawyer.
