Atef Sayed was arrested as a minor and forcibly disappeared for a period before appearing before the prosecution. He was charged under case No. 357 of 2016 military crimes known in the media as the “Sinai State case.” The prosecution ordered his detention pending investigations. On August 2, 2017, the Military Prosecutor decided to exclude all minors from the case and re-transfer them to the Public Prosecutor’s Office under case 502 for 2015. On January 27, 2019, while completing his release procedures, he was forcibly disappeared and he has remained disappeared for more than 1 year. Violations: forced disappearance for a period – detained with adults – intransigence in his release, leading to enforced disappearance.
