Azza Okasha and others were arrested when security forces broke into a conference for the families of martyrs and detainees in Manofia on December 13, 2016. They were presented before the prosecution on charges of possession of papers, publications, and tools, and recording without a license to send to foreign channels. The prosecution decided to release her and three other women on December 15, 2016.
