Baraa Alaa was arrested on January 28th, 2015, amidst demonstrations at Al-Gadid street, Bahtim, Qalyubia. He was detained on remand for joining an illegally formed group, demonstration without permit, assembly, shouting inciting expressions to police and army, possession of illegal firearms, explosives, and ammunition.
