On May 22, 2015, the security forces at the Mataria metro station arrested Basma Sadek and 3 other students after searching their cell phones. The security forces stated that they found special videos on their phones of Muslim Brotherhood marches, and the Ultras, and some photos of the former president, Mohamad Morsi. Report No. 13/99 of the Second Subway Section on 5/22/15 was created. They were taken to the Al-Matareya police station, and they were detained pending investigations. She was released on bail of 5 thousand pounds on June 4, 2015. She was subsequently sentenced to two years imprisonment and a fine of 5,000 pounds on July 27, 2015.
