Bassant El-Sayed was arrested from home on March 17th, 2021 because of her husband. She was subjected to enforced disappearance in the National Security in Abis, Alexandria for 11 months. She was presented before the prosecution in Manshiya, Alexandria on February 2nd, 2022. The court ordered her release on May 8th, 2022 with a guarantee of residence, but the decision was not implemented and she remained hidden until she appeared again before the prosecution on June 25th, 2022. Another decision was issued to release her on July 7th, 2022 on 10,000 L.E bail, but she was forcibly disappeared again and appeared before the prosecution in a new case on August 20th, 2022. The court ordered her release on August 24th, 2022 on a 5,000 L.E. bail but she was forcibly detained until she appeared at the Supreme State Security Prosecution on September 20th, 2022.
