Belal Mosad was arrested on April 4th, 2014 in Sandoub in Mansoura. He was charged under case No. 6675 of 2014 misdemeanor in Mansoura for joining a banned group and writing expressions on Mansoura stadium walls against the army and police. Then he was arrested on remand. He was released on a thousand L.E. bail on October 14th, 2014. He was sentenced to 10 years of prison in absentia. He filed an appeal to reduce the sentence to two-year prison in March 2016. He was released on September 21 after serving his sentence.
