Eslam Adel Abd El-Salamwas arrested as a minor on January 25, 2014, in the vicinity of a demonstration in Tahrir Square on the third anniversary of the revolution. He was presented before the prosecution under case No. 1014 of 2014 on charges of assembly, show of force and violence, disrupting traffic and demonstrating without permit. He was detained pending investigations. He was sentenced in absentia on July 1, 2014 to two years in prison with work and monitoring.
