Eslam Gamal Raheel Abdullah

Eslam Gamal and others from Al-Azhar University were arrested on December 30, 2013 following student demonstrations at the university. They were taken to Second Nasr City section. They were presented to the prosecution and investigated in the case no. 7458 for 2013 Second Nasr City Misdemeanors. They were charged with rioting, assembly, vandalism, joining an armed terrorist gang, possession of firearms and cartridges, possession of explosives, destruction of public and private property, burning of al-Azhar University buildings, obstructing traffic, obstructing security, resisting the authorities and demonstrating without permit. The prosecution ordered her imprisonment pending investigations. She was granted bail of 1,000 pounds on 12 February 2014. She was sentenced in absentia on May 11, 2014 to 4 years in prison, 4 years of probation and a fine of 30,000 pounds. – Violations she was subjected to: – She was beaten with a stick and insulted during the arrest – threatened with rape and seeing torture – subjected to self-search.
