Ezzat Mohamed was arrested as a minor with others on January 24, 2014 amidst the car market events where clashes took place in the vicinity of al-Salam Mosque in the tenth district of Nasr City. He was charged under case No. 3352 for 2014, the first misdemeanours of Nasr City, with committing crimes of rioting, vandalism, assembly, organizing a march without permission from the Ministry of Interior, possession of firecrackers, fireworks, Molotov cocktails, joining an armed terrorist gang aimed at disturbing peace and public security and resisting the authorities. He was detained pending investigation. The case was dismissed on March 25, 2015.
