Faten Ahmed was arrested on October 25, 2015, from the Porto Al Ain Al-Sukhna area. She was ambushed at her car, which was parked in the cafeteria area. While she was on her way to pick up her car, she was arrested. She was presented to the prosecution, which ordered her to be detained amidst case No. 721 of 2015, Supreme State Security . She was transferred to El Qanater prison and renewed until she was released on bail of 5,000 pounds on December 6, 2016. She was sentenced in absentia to 10 years imprisonment on 30 April 2019.
